SUMMARY:Support\, Don’t Punish: Direct Service Resource Fair & Rally
DESCRIPTION:DecrimPovertyDC will be hosting a Direct Service Resource Fair and Rally on Monday\, June 26th from 12:00-3:00 at Freedom Plaza. This is a local event representing a global day of action called Support\, Don’t Punish which is about uplifting and fighting for drug policies that prioritize health and human rights.  \nSeveral direct resource providers and a mutual aid group will be tabling to provide: legal aid (expungement)\, housing connections\, harm reduction supplies\, SNAP information and connection\, HIV/AIDS information\, LGBTQ+ and women-specific re-entry services\, and resource distribution (mutual aid).  \nAt 1:30 we’ll have an informal Narcan training and the rally starts at 2:00 where we’ll get loud about drug criminalization and other intersecting experiences re: health\, wellness\, and bodily autonomy.  \nParticipating organizations: HIPS\, The Chosen Few\, Miriam’s Kitchen\, Who Speaks for Me\, Rising for Justice\, DC Hunger Solutions\, Remora House\, Father Mackenna Center
